The hot chocolate that I prepare in the cold months for me to enjoy when it blows outside is ultra decadent ! It has nothing to do with Nesquick! I use only real dark chocolate and spices.
I have often been asked for my recipe, here it is, written for the first time in black and white.
Recipe of the perfect real hot chocolate
For 1 – 2 mugs
- 300 ml of semi-skimmed milk30 g of dark chocolate (72% for me)
- 1/2 cat of cinnamon
- 10 ml of rum (optional but sublime )
- 1 – 2 cat of sugar (optional and not necessary if you use chocolate below 70% because those are already sweet)
- Whipped cream for garnish
On low heat, gently melt the chocolate in the milk with the sugar. Once the chocolate is melted add cinnamon and rum and pour immediately into the cup.
Garnish the hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkled with grated chocolate.
Whipped cream has two benefits. The first is to make this chocolate drink ultra decadent. The second is that by drinking from the cup through the whipped cream the hot chocolate becomes less hot to drink.
