A further recipe in the collection of Austrian recipes is the one for the Austrian tomato salad. It is refreshing and fruity at the same time and goes wonderfully with delicious Viennese Schnitzel, for example, but also BBQ and many other dishes.
- 12 tomatoes
- 2 small red onions or shallots
- 12 tbsp olive oil
- 8 tbsp balsamic or balsamic cream
- 1 pinch of sugar
- Salt, pepper
- 4 tbsp chopped basil
Cut the tomatoes into pieces.
Peel the onion, cut into small cubes and add to the tomatoes with the finely chopped basil.
Then add the olive oil, a pinch of sugar, the vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well and serve.
