Chocolate dessert cream (Traditional & Thermomix)

Another cream dessert that I love to make for my men is this luscious chocolate cream.

This is a super simple recipe that uses not only the egg yolks, but one whole egg. And it doesn’t require any additional cooking in the oven. This is one of my favourite recipes, along with the delicious and very tasty vanilla cream dessert. I have also posted the recipe for my quick caramel cream dessert and the coffee cream.

Ingredients

  • 70 g dark chocolate 72
  • 250 g single cream
  • 250 g milk
  • 1 egg
  • 20 g sugar
  • 20 g cornflour

Recipe for 4 portions traditional method

Grate or melt the chocolate. Put in a saucepan and add the cream, milk, egg, sugar and cornflour. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the cream thickens. This takes just under 5 minutes approximately. Pour into small glasses and leave to cool putting a lid on.

Tip: If I feel like an extra treat I even add a homemade whipped cream that I place on top of the chocolate cream. That’s the ultimate treat.

Thermomix Methode

Put the dark chocolate in the bowl and chop for 10 seconds / speed 8.
Add the milk, cream, egg, sugar and cornflour and boil for 6 minutes 30 seconds / 100°C / speed 4.
Put the cream in 4 glass jars, let it cool before putting the lid on.
